Chiffon cake is a delicious soft and fluffy cake that is often used as birthday cake base. It is also perfect for afternoon tea or coffee. There are vanilla, pandan, lemon and orange chiffon cakes. In Southeast Asia, pandan chiffon is the most popular among the other flavours. Juice from pandan leaves or paste makes pandan chiffon cake green in colour and the aroma of pandan covers the smell of eggs contained in it. Since I live far from Southeast Asia now, my favourite is orange chiffon cake, for which I will share the recipe today.
